Do you like Madrid? Have you ever visited this wonderful city? If your answer to both questions is “yes”, we are sure that you know the San Isidro celebration. This event is celebrated on May 15 each year (San Isidro is the male Patron Saint of Madrid).
During the San Isidro celebration the Madrileños take to the streets in droves, enjoying a series of constant fiestas throughout the city. This festival and feast are held in an open-air area known as “Pradera de San Isidro”. During that day many people are dressed as chulapo or chulapa and go dancing to open air concerts.
So if you are in Madrid during the San Isidro celebration you must visit the chapel of the Saint, drink water from the spring of San Isidro and enjoy the massive cocido meal in the open air in the prairie of San Isidro.
